#1

I was just reminded by something that I read--it is something that I have heard and said for many years but it is good to be reminded of it:

The number one thing in life is to keep the number one thing, number one!

Of course, the number one thing in life is Jesus Christ. Our whole life's purpose is to keep Him first in our life. There are so many other things that can get our focus off of Him--jobs, schooling, illness, everyday stress, relationships, good things, bad things, etc.

As I am putting my focus on Christ, I am also trying to wait patiently for His Will. No news yet regarding any ministry or teaching job. Thanks for your continued prayers.

Your comment about focusing on Jesus made me think of a Bible story I have been pondering; Martha and Mary and Jesus.
I have been thinking of Mary. Even though there definitely were things she could and Should have been doing, like helping her sister in the kitchen like a good woman; she was sitting at the feet of Jesus - not talking or complaining or even justifying herself in the face of Martha's complaints - she was just listening to Jesus, listening with her whole attention and willing to Not do things. At times I try to picture myself at the feet of Jesus; not anxious about what should be done or what others think I should be doing, just listening to what Jesus would have to say to me. Being willing to do or be what Jesus is wishing for me, like a servant of Jesus. Jesus said "One thing is important and Mary has chosen that good part and it shall not be taken away from her."

Thanks for your good comments and thanks for reminding me of that verse--what Jesus said.
